Parking charges are killing town

Sir -- I wish to reply to a letter from the county manager of Dun Laoghaire/Rathdown (DLR) County Council.
The main reason for the decline of the town of Dun Laoghaire is the parking and enforcement policy of the county council.
Parking charges come into force at 8am and finish at 7pm each day. Parking in the town centre is €2 per hour, with a charge of €1.50 on the roads on the periphery of town. There are two 'Park All Day' car parks -- council run -- where the charge is €5 for the day.
