'Parish pump' is not the problem
Your editorial of December 18 contains the statement, in relation to the problems confronting the country, that "the most basic malaise" is "parish-pump politics".
It was not the actions of ordinary people around the proverbial parish pump which bankrupted the country. That was achieved by the decisions of a small number of the country's most powerful citizens around the Cabinet table and in the boardrooms of the banks.
