Overpaid ministers query others' income

I was delighted to see Education Minister Ruairi Quinn questioning the figures for third-level salaries.

It is only right and proper that someone who spends years studying -- at a cost of thousands -- then spends a further 10 years working as a lecturer at little more than the minimum wage, should be paid considerably less than a government minister whose only qualification is his or her ability, when asked a question, to talk for 10 or 15 minutes without once addressing the question asked.
