Nothing has changed since the Eighties

WHILE the country screams out for new direction and leadership, I can't help but be struck at how little has changed over the years since I left.

I was one of the many who were forced to emigrate in the mid-Eighties.

Yes, that was a time when Mr CJ Haughey was telling the country to tighten its belt, as he and his cronies in FF robbed the country blind. With his passing he was of course honoured in the traditional Irish way as one of the great cute hoors of our time. His many apprentices stood watching, eagerly waiting to fill his shoes.
