Not so ordinary
Sir -- While I agree with a couple of your commentators' choices in your supplement entitled 'Who's who? Inspiring hope in a nation in turmoil' last week, the general lack of ordinary, non-celebrity and non-Dublin based people in your lists is an unforgivable oversight.
Your writers seem jaded, self-absorbed and ageist in some respects -- how many of those chosen are in their 20s, the very generation which will be to the forefront in restoring confidence and pride in Ireland?
In times such as these, is it not more likely that we rail against the politicians, celebrities, media-hyped figures, tax exiles and millionaires that were featured? With the greatest of respect, I don't see any nuggets of inspiration or foresight coming from these people.
