No to Norris

•I applaud Sean Domhnaill (Letters, September 26) for saying David Norris must remove himself from the presidential race. I've worked as a therapist with adults who were sexually abused as children for close to 20 years. To this day, I still struggle to find words to describe the incredibly damaging effects of such abuse.
We have been scandalised the world over not only by the incidence of child sexual abuse in this country but its severity. Many of the accounts I have heard would be deemed inconceivable to a listener.
The reports and subsequent controversy about the church's response to these victims is still unsettled, yet we are actually considering electing a man to presidential office who sought clemency for a child abuser. That is inconceivable.
