Name game... I feel your pain... what it's all about
lNICE of the Fianna Fail councillors to allow Ballymun to be called Spring Cross in honour of Dick Spring.
Will Ballsbridge now be renamed "Michael D4"? Will the children's corner of Dublin Zoo soon be known as "Pat Rabbite"?
Will CIE become "Corish Iompair Eireann"?
And if Brendan Howlin ever becomes Minister for Education will he be "Howlin at the Muinteoiri"?

lAS a true blue Manchester City supporter may I offer my sympathies to the rebel army after Cork's defeat on Sunday. Kerry are to Cork what Manchester United are to Manchester City -- a pain in the butt.
But, let's take a lead from the politicians' phrasebook and "be ready for the upturn when it comes", because it will.

lTHERE is a lot of talk about NAMA, and a lot of criticism of developers and banks. But has anyone bothered to investigate which political party most of these developers were subscribing to?
Also, how much of this "NAMA land" is in the Taoiseach's constituency?

lIF the minister was in the car wouldn't the commissioner know?
If the commissioner knew wouldn't the serving Taoiseach know?
If the Taoiseach knew wouldn't the minister be very likely to tell us ad nauseum that the Taoiseach had "not been found guilty of wrongdoing by the tribunal"?
And if the Taoiseach knew something similar about other ministers then wouldn't they all be very likely to tell us ad nauseum that the Taoiseach had "not been found guilty of any wrongdoing by the tribunal"?
So is that what all that was about?
