My perfect ministerial reply to property tax

TWO years ago, then TD and now Environment Minister Phil Hogan was asked if he would take a voluntary cut in his salary.

Bullishly, he replied "no".

Despite being pressed on the matter, Mr Hogan dug in his heels and said he would take no cut, stating: "Circumstances won't allow me to."
