Mr Myers right on immigration
IN response to Kevin Myers' timely article on immigration ('We're creating a racial rod for our own backs. . .', Irish Independent, February 17) Kevin Rajaratnam retorts with the predictable response of those who hold disdain for anyone who raises their head above the altar of political-correctness and questions mass immigration (Letters, February 19).
Mr Myers has had the temerity to question the benefits to this country of mass immigration from Nigeria and other countries. He must therefore be slapped down.
It would not do to answer Mr Myers' question and outline the benefits to this country of people arriving here en masse without documentation but with the clear and perfectly obvious intention of pursuing citizenship, benefits and passports regardless of the laws and asylum policy of this State.
