Move Coughlan from enterprise

I wish to echo Sarah Moore's condemnation of Tanaiste Mary Coughlan's remarks implying that some emigration was "not a bad thing" and that many young people in particular are leaving Ireland "to enjoy themselves" (Letters, February 20).
Taken as a whole, these comments presented a distorted picture of the emigration crisis here in the BBC interview, as the Tanaiste clearly attempted to understate the gravity of the situation.
The fact remains that a significant number of expensively educated young people must leave Ireland in order to find work, and do so for no other reason.
