Media fawn over our politicians

IN A week when the orchestration of the incorporation of the opposition into Government received blanket coverage in the media, the statement by Greta Harrison that our problems lie with "the Irish psyche", our "sycophantic fawning" and our "parish-pump politics" is pathetic (Letters, October 15).
The powerful people who contributed to the present dire state of the country have, with the aid of the obsequious media, admonished those who have the temerity to criticise them to stop "squabbling" and indulging in the so-called "blame game".
The only "sycophantic fawning" going on is by too many journalists who are tugging the forelock to powerful politicians in the hope of bagging a place inside the government tent.
