Majority verdict one of ignorance

Will we ever learn? Just over two years ago we gave a five-year mandate to Fianna Fail to govern the country with whomsoever they could get to help them. They had guided us through the 'Glory Days' of the Celtic Tiger, although there were some of us who guessed it was only a pussycat.

Now, it looks like we are about to sign up to another coalition involving Labour. Since the State was founded, it supported Eamon de Valera's minority government in 1932 and was involved in seven coalitions. The total term of their support is 7,597 days, averaging 950 days per government -- not even two years and 10 months -- and they want a five-year mandate!

Also worth noting is the fact that a FG/Labour coalition has NEVER been re-elected!
