M3 re-route the only just award

If there was an award for protesting, it would go to the 1,500-plus people who made the journey from all parts of Ireland and beyond to the Hill of Tara and formed a human harp in protest against the destruction of the Tara Valley.

I am not sure what award you had in mind, but the most coveted of all awards for the Tara protesters and the majority of the people of Ireland, is the re-routing of the M3 motorway away from the Tara-Skryne valley.

However, should Environment Minister John Gormley rather not have to again countenance aggressive opposition from Transport Minister Noel Dempsey and Finance Minister Brian Cowen, the people of Ireland, and indeed the world over, will have to live in hope that the EU will fearlessly challenge such aggressive opposition from the above mentioned two ministers -- because, dear editor, Tara protesters know that ministers Dempsey and Cowen, along with their like-minded friends on the Meath county council, are behind the construction of the M3 motorway and the destruction of the sacred landscape of Tara, our shared heritage.
