'Lucky ones'

• I'm one of the "lucky folk" Christopher O'Donovan (Letters, October 5) wonders about, who has a travel pass despite not being an old age pensioner. I was given one because of the disability payment I receive due to suffering from severe myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME).

I'm housebound with the illness so, despite being a regular bus user before becoming ill, I've never used the pass in the 16 or so years I have it.
