Luas extension is off the rails

Sir -- I am hopping mad at the idea of an extension to the existing Luas lines by running some track above ground. What we need is extra capacity, not another layer of street-level traffic. Where a Luas line has priority then other travellers will have to suffer. Underground is the way to go.
Listening to a representative gentleman from those who wish to extend the Luas say "there will be a bit of disruption but it will all be OK in five years" was a laugh. But not a laugh for those who saw what happened in Harcourt Street when the Luas green line was being installed.
I should also mention that a couple of years ago I got a missive through the door about making a new Luas line from Dundrum, through Terenure and on to Christchurch. (I live in Dublin 14.) All above ground and adding nothing to traffic solutions. It was to stop dead at Christchurch as they said at that time that Winetavern Street was "too steep". They would have been better to simply paint lines on the road and give the buses priority.
