• It amazes me that at the first sign the staff in ESB might lose their outrageous pay and entitlements they propose to strike. This is the same company that is basically a monopoly run by unions which consider themselves untouchable. They think they can hold the country to ransom.
Their pay and conditions are out of touch with similar colleagues in Europe and this needs to be addressed. One final point: how many ESB workers does it take to change a light bulb? Well, first you have to consult with their union. A conservative answer would be 10, with all expenses included: and God forbid it is out-of-hours work -- double it then.
