Letters: Lord's story not entirely accurate

Sir -- Lord Henry Mount Charles was recently given substantial air time on RTE radio to relate an incident which he said was witnessed by his friends on the Costa del Sol.
His story was that a group of people in an up-market restaurant, to the bewilderment of the patrons, raucously clinked glasses, drank toasts and chanted the praises of Nama and Brian Lenihan. Mount Charles said the people involved were Irish property developers, celebrating the establishment of Nama and the benefits it would bring to them.
I know the Costa del Sol and Puerto Banus where the incident was said to have taken place. While I have no doubt that such an incident did take place, I would totally reject Mount Charles's conclusions with regard to the identity of the people involved and the reason for their conduct.
