Sir - am 21 years old. I am a committed Catholic. I go to Mass every Sunday. I pray the Rosary daily. I believe in the Virgin birth, in the Resurrection, in Transubstantiation, in protecting human life from conception to natural death.

My views on liturgy and the Mass are probably closer to those of John Charles McQuaid than Tony Flannery. I also happen to be gay and I cannot, in conscience, vote against the marriage amendment on 22 May.

As Mary McAleese said, this referendum is about LGBT young people, an extraordinarily vulnerable group of people and what kind of message we wish to send to them.
