Let's not put Oscar behind bars again
Public Works Minister Brian Hayes wants to put bars around Oscar Wilde's tomb at Pere Lachaise cemetery in Paris to prevent his admirers leaving lipstick traces, flowers and mementos.
Fancy wanting to put Oscar behind bars again? Didn't he suffer enough behind bars in his life without his soul being incarcerated?
The Office of Public Works is right to help clean the monument but that should be the limit of its involvement.
