Labour need a reality check

I SEE that the Labour Party are persisting with the fantasy that they can lead the next government and elect Eamon Gilmore as Taoiseach, despite the fact that recent polls give Labour about half the support of Fine Gael. Perhaps they need a refresher course in how elections work?
If I were a member of the Labour Party I would be more concerned by the fact that all recent polls have shown them to be less popular than Fianna Fail -- leaders of the most despised government in history, led by the most unpopular Taoiseach.
Should these findings not provoke deep soul-searching in Labour, rather than jubilation?
