Kevin showing his begrudgery

KEVIN Myers’s attack on the Irish rugby team, and specifically Ronan O'Gara (Irish Independent, February 16) was appalling.

It is one thing to criticise a player’s performance as a sports pundit, but Kevin Myers has neither the credentials nor ability to do so.

He writes: “Ireland did not want to win, and Declan Kidney did not choose a team that could win. His selection of Ronan O'Gara said as much . . . It's an Irish characteristic. We are comfortable with failure . . . A team that had been selected to win would not have had a half-back partnership of O'Gara and O'Leary.”
