Judges need to be hit in the pocket

A slick government split its people into public v private. I worked in the prison service. During the boom years, my colleagues and I worked in overcrowded, antiquated and neglected prisons and compulsory overtime interfered with my family life.
I received a modest pension and now find that, with a flick of the pen, Brian Lenihan can cut that pension by 4pc. Of course, he cleverly avoided cutting other sectors' pensions.
He avoided stopping payment of children's allowance to children who don't live in Ireland but hit a popular and easy target -- the lower-paid public service pensioners.
