It's time to stand up to EU bullies

THE main problem with Ireland's bond rating is that we will never be taken seriously abroad while we maintain a weak, craven leadership which has the respect of nobody inside or outside Ireland.
The German bondholders who made bad investments in Irish banks are Germany's problem, yet we have been told that they are our problem. If they want to make bad investment decisions then they can take the consequences themselves.
Jean-Claude Trichet and Angela Merkel are behaving like schoolyard bullies by trying to make us pay -- and our two Brians are dealing with these bullies by carrying their schoolbags, buying their lunch and doing their homework for them.
