In brief: PR farce . . . Benefits . . . Means test . . . Cheese please

HEALTH Minister Harney tells us the proposed site for the new national children's hospital was mandated by the Government. Ms Harney intends to engage a PR firm to "promote the plan", ie, to sell the idea to a not-so-gullible-any-more public.

Save us the unnecessary expense, Oh Queen of Private Clinics. No amount of PR can cover for the intransigence of the ruling demi-gods of Leinster House who have rejected the findings of our country's ombudsman and all but ignored and buried ESRI reports on the status of the Irish economy.

I wouldn't leave them in charge of an empty pram.
