I SUSPECT that if Jennifer Sleeman urged churchgoers to boycott the collection plate instead of Sunday Mass she would get a reaction from the hierarchy far more quickly.

  • THE Leaving Cert points system, under which students applying for university generally need to take three languages but only one mathematical subject, favours those with linguistic ability. An alternative approach could be to allow maths count as two of the required six subjects.
