In brief: Burqa . . . Thank you . . . Multiculturalism . . . Facts

In the article 'We're shirking our duty if we don't ban the burqa' (Irish Independent, January 28), if the words 'burqa' and 'religion' were replaced respectively with the words 'high heels' and 'fashion', would Martina Devlin accept the possibility that we are all bulldozed by cockeyed reasons into behaviour that doesn't make any sense to lots of other people?

Maybe we do need to have rules regarding entry into banks and exam situations, but is a ban the answer?
