Imagining a better Ireland

•I was heartened to read in your paper that Ireland is beginning to fight back and that even the 'Financial Times' is commenting on our recovery.
I have just returned from driving my two nieces to Dublin Airport where the full human cost of the economic mess was brought home.
While checking in baggage I encountered a mother and father saying goodbye to their two sons who were leaving for Australia. They had been educated to the highest standard and both had MAs.
