Humanity needs faith to survive
FERGAL Leonard is barking up the wrong tree when he describes faith as being "a dangerous concept that humanity would do better to abandon" (Letters, April 7) and blames it for the child abuse in the Catholic Church.
Every single person has faith – a belief system about how the future is going to play out. When you go through green traffic lights, you have faith that the other set of lights is red.
Some people put their faith in financial markets, others in politicians and others in their entrepreneurial abilities. Their actions simply reflect their faith.
