•Australians have a reputation for being good sports and happy-go-lucky souls. Fair dinkum -- but only when they win; or so to judge by the bleatings out of the legendary Aussie centre Tim Horan. He has told the world that Irish players were deliberately time-wasting to cheat their way past their formidable opponents.
He claims he was told this by the gentlemanly Alan Gaffney after the game. Yet, according to Declan Kidney, Horan was not in the team room post-match. Mr Horan appears to have got his budgie-smugglers in a twist.
Ireland out-muscled, out-thought, and -- most importantly -- out-scored the Aussies.
