High-profile visitors will bring a tourism bonanza to country

It's an ill wind that doesn't blow good for somebody. In this case, Bord Failte should be a winner. Three of the best known people in the world are expected to pay state visits to Ireland within the next 18 months.

Queen Elizabeth II is coming here in May. Pope Benedict XVI is invited to Ireland for the International Eucharistic Congress in June 2012. He would be chief celebrant at a Mass in Dublin's Croke Park to conclude the festival.

Finally, Barack Obama has promised to visit us shortly, and says he would like to trace some of his Irish ancestors.
