Greens 'enemy' of countryside
I AGREE wholeheartedly with Aidan Finn's condemnation of John Gormley's ineptitude (Letters, May 5). Instead of proscribing a harmless and beneficial sport like stag-hunting, Mr Gormley should be instigating moves to cherish the dwindling wildlife population of the Irish nation.
Instead of engaging with people who cherish and protect wildlife in a natural environment, such as the Ward Union Hunt and Ireland's many gun clubs, he has set himself up as the enemy of the countryside.
Rural Ireland would be better off without such a minister.
