Green stag plan is dangerous one
The stag released by the hunt that day is still at large in the Meath countryside, distressed at his separation from his herd and posing a threat to motorists and walkers. He is also risking injury to himself or others.
Had the hunt been permitted to pursue him with hounds, he would now be long back in the Ward Union deer reserve, safe, well-fed and contented among his own species.
It is quite disturbingly ironic that the Green Party, who profess to love and care for animals, can be so ignorant and callous.
Do they actually know anything about rural life?
Or do they care that the hunting licensing fiasco is making them look extremely foolish?
