Grave consequences for an addicted nation

Alcohol is arguably this country's biggest social problem, next to suicide. So much so that we have high numbers of people that are essentially fighting for their lives in rehab centres all over the country.

Many will not make it and are referred to as terminal or degenerative alcoholics who are just trying to get through another day.

If one looks into a bottle bank to witness the thousands of empty bottles disposed of every day in this country, the horror of a nation gripped by alcohol is all too obvious.
