Government has real work to do
RICHARD Power (Letters, March 7) should remember that barbaric activity such as fox hunting, hare coursing and stag hunting (somehow described as sport) is not supported by the majority of right-thinking people, regardless of whoever is in government.
In the UK, the Tory-led government has shelved its promise to repeal the ban on fox hunting until 2012. Conservatives Against Fox Hunting, led by Transport Minister Norman Baker, issued a statement in December 2010 stating that "two-thirds of Conservative supporters and the vast majority of the country" oppose the repeal.
And "this government has far more important things to do than spending time on bringing back cruelty to animals for sport".
