• This time of year can be pretty bleak and we can all do with something to lift our spirits; therefore, the news that atheists in London are to open their own church is a welcome bit of good news.
The London borough of Islington is first in line, followed by a network of other churches for the godless. Of course, old misery guts Richard Dawkins doesn't approve, but let's all hope that Pope Dawkins is ignored and that the churches go ahead.
Atheism is becoming the comic gift that keeps on giving. I'll be maintaining my allegiance to the One True Church, but it would be churlish not to wish our atheist friends well in their new venture. Good luck and God(less) bless.
