Gerry Adams is not 'honourable'

Kevin Myers (Irish Independent, August 5) referred twice, wrongly, to Gerry Adams MP as the "Right Honourable". This is a common misapprehension.

In the British constitutional system, the "Right Honourable" title is only applied to members of the Queen's Privy Council, including cabinet members and other selected politicians.

It does not apply to all MPs.
