Gandhi was a wise man

Sir -- Channel 4 has asked seven figures from around the world to partake on their programme, 'A History of the Bible' and to offer their interpretations of the Bible and to ask them how Jesus' message of forgiveness and non-violence has touched them.

It is ironic when politicians such as Gerry Adams, Martin McGuinness, George Bush, Tony Blair, Augusto Pinochet, etc, brag about how devout they are and how much they admire the life and works of Jesus, that they have so much blood on their hands, and show themselves to be so hypocritical.

No wonder the late Mahatma Gandhi, when asked why he never became a Christian, replied "only for the Christians I would have become a Christian". He was certainly a very wise man.
