GAA should square up to need for goalmouth technology

It would be fair to say this particular match was not their best, but they did not go out due to lack of effort, but mainly due to ambiguous rules regarding the square-ball phenomenon.

In this era of high technology, instead of depending upon an umpire, a digital camera, strategically placed, could decide immediately whether a square-ball incident had occurred.

It is very frustrating for a team on two occasions this season to find themselves losing out due to this rule and especially when the RTE cameras showed quite clearly that it was not a square ball.
