FF leader aping dim opposition
Sir -- It seems that Micheal Martin has decided to follow in the footsteps of Sinn Fein and members of the Technical Group by calling for a referendum on the new fiscal agreement, regardless of the outcome of the Attorney General's decision on its constitutional status.
Surely he has taken his inspiration from the Haughey/ Blaney manual on delusion and self destruction.
If this is the Fianna Fail leader's idea of how to strengthen support for his ailing party, he has much to learn about leadership. Aping the nonsensical bleating of the world's most clueless opposition members will surely see his party plummet to a new low.
Any attempt by Fianna Fail to 'out-green' Sinn Fein will be seen by the electorate for what it is -- a pathetic surrender of principle. Micheal Martin should realise that or resign the leadership of his party.
The success or failure of our country to hold its own, into the future, will depend on the ability of truly democratic parties to hold the line against old-style socialists, who promise much but deliver nothing.
