He did indeed pay a high price for this piece of land we call Ireland.
Perhaps land is the most potent of all our passions in this country. This is the reason why the Fianna Fail-led Government is so completely determined to run away from the most difficult of decisions: that a property tax in Ireland is a long-term certainty.
