Feeling at home with Aer Lingus
Thursday December 24 2009
I wanted to extend a huge thank you to Aer Lingus for getting me and thousands of others home from the UK for Christmas. Never before was I so glad and relieved to see the familiar sight of a green aircraft, green uniforms and to hear the lovely Irish accents.
Despite the chaos in Gatwick, Aer Lingus got everyone on board with only minor delays. The airline in general handled a difficult situation with utmost professionalism. It was not going to let the snow ruin Christmas for the masses. I kissed the ground like the Pope, relieved to be back in Dublin.
I hope and pray that everyone else reaches their desired destination too. I feel so guilty to be home in the bosom of my family while others suffer airport delays and cancellations, or are stuck in the Eurotunnel.
I wish everyone in Ireland a wonderful Christmas and the best of happiness and good health in the New Year.
It's good to be back in the green, green grass of home.
