Feeding the poor

• Passing the Cappuchin Day Centre in Dublin's Bow Street this week, it was frightening to look at the endless queue of homeless and needy people, and those on the poverty threshold, all waiting for their food parcels supplied by Brother Kevin Crowley.

His wonderful staff give out 1,200 food parcels every Wednesday and the centre provides 600 meals, six days a week. Looking after people's hygiene and health is also important to Brother Kevin.

The centre provides a chiropodist, training skills, a nurse, and clean clothing.
