"Float like a butterfly. Sting like a bee" - the trademark of the legendary boxer Muhammad Ali, who has sadly passed away at 74.

A man who will live on for eternity in boxing's hall of fame, Ali's origins began at The Turnpike, Ennis, Co, Clare. We are proud of his Clare background.

Ali was the greatest boxing entertainer of all time, and had legendary fights - with his nemesis Joe Frazier in 'The Thriller In Manilla', where both fighters came close to death, fighting in such oppressive humidity; and 'The Rumble In The Jungle' in Zaire, when against all the odds Ali knocked out big George Foreman to regain his heavyweight crown.
