End funding for private education

It is disappointing that our "socialist" Education Minister does not want to put an end to the €100m of taxpayers' money that is channelled into our private schools. Ruairi Quinn's talk of more transparent admission policies is nonsense; if one does not have €5,000 plus there is no admission to these bastions of privilege.

Surely the €100m could be better spent on special-needs teachers, under-privileged primary schools, students with learning difficulties and so on.
