End begging by political parties
Joseph Bergin (Letters, February 1) has a valid point about the prevalence of begging among our ruling class.
Over the years it is not just bankers who have demanded money without any favours in return.
Party treasurers, TDs, and government ministers have all asked hard-pressed businessmen for large sums of money without offering anything in return. Asking for money for nothing is the very definition of begging.
