Embassy closure

• I refer to a report this week that: "Some 50 TDs, 25 senators and seven representatives of ministers met yesterday with a lobby group seeking to reverse the decision (of the closure of the Irish Embassy to the Vatican State)."

Why could this lobby group not visit Rome and ask the Pope to change the two-embassy rule the Vatican imposes on all nations, rich or poor alike. Surely if the Pope is a follower of Christ he will understand the difficult financial situation the Republic of Ireland is facing at this present time?
