HURRAY, plug-in points for electric cars have arrived. But please can someone explain to me the environmental benefits, given that 95pc of our electricity is generated by burning fossil fuels and, because of the veto on nuclear power and Eamon Ryan's delusional hopes for wind power, it is going to stay that way.

- PEOPLE have taken to the airwaves in their droves to complain about the closure of pubs on Good Friday, on the grounds that it is an archaic deference to the Catholic Church, to which they have little or no affinity.
