Elderfield won't dress it up

IT was a relief to see a photograph of Financial Regulator Matthew Elderfield in a well- cut grey suit, light blue shirt and quiet striped tie, standing outside Leinster House (Irish Independent, April 15) .
During the so-called Celtic Tiger years, the male of the species, whether TV pundit, politician, banker, developer or whatever, was under the impression that big striped suits, ridiculous blue shirts with white collars and loud, uncoordinated ties were de rigueur.
They made them stand out for what we really knew they were and is now being confirmed every day.
