Education system must be our priority

IT is with dismay and disgust that I am writing to express my concerns about the various cuts to our education system in the past week.

We have seen the registration fees to our colleges increase by 25pc and now it has been reported that certification for all FETAC (Further Education and Training Awards Council)-level courses has been suspended, particularly those in the North East region.

Does this mean that the efforts of thousands of students who have studied and taken examinations are to be consigned to the rubbish heap? And what of those currently attending classes or taking examinations?
