•I don't get this. A man bets nearly €3bn, the stakeholders come looking for their money, and everyone else must pick up the tab to the tune of at least €400m -- and this does not take into consideration the vast amounts of money pumped into the banks. By the same token, he is able to carry on with his life as he sees fit.
This year I changed my car insurance as Quinn was looking for more than €760 for full comprehensive cover. I am over 55 with full no-claims bonus. I was able to secure a better deal online and save myself nearly €400. Now I can expect to be hit with a levy to cover their mess.
You couldn't make this stuff up.
